RETROFIT AND RESTORATION OF EXTERIOR FIRE EXIT STAIRS.
- Addition of concrete pillars to support bottom of stairs and further securing steel framing to this member,
- Addition of steel X-bracing to columns as the wind loading in the modeling showed some weakness and inadequacy in the existing structure,
- Increased bearing at half-landing by anchor bolting new steel angles to brick walls,
- Additional of Min. 3/4" bolts to steel to steel member with weak joints,
- Issued specs for new and additional anchor bolt connections for any member which is already tied to brick walls. It was decided not to remove any but add to existing.
